Library and Classroom Visits

Elementary (grade 8) workshops allow students to:

Learn how to use the GWCA and library database as a way to meet curriculum expectations related to the Great War
Develop research skills by accessing primary and secondary sources at the library
Take opportunities to reflect on and write about the Great War from a local perspective
Create a sense of community connection through local history

Secondary (grades 10-12) workshops allow students to:

Learn how to use the GWCA and library database as a way to meet curriculum expectations related to the Great War and commemoration
Develop more advanced research skills by accessing primary and secondary sources at the library, including use of microfilm
Create authentic historical projects relating to Brantford, Brant County and Six Nations and prepare students for such research activities as are expected at the post-secondary level
