Library and Classroom Visits
Elementary (grade 8) workshops allow students to:
- Learn how to use the GWCA and library database as a way to meet curriculum expectations related to the Great War
- Develop research skills by accessing primary and secondary sources at the library
- Take opportunities to reflect on and write about the Great War from a local perspective
- Create a sense of community connection through local history
Secondary (grades 10-12) workshops allow students to:
- Learn how to use the GWCA and library database as a way to meet curriculum expectations related to the Great War and commemoration
- Develop more advanced research skills by accessing primary and secondary sources at the library, including use of microfilm
- Create authentic historical projects relating to Brantford, Brant County and Six Nations and prepare students for such research activities as are expected at the post-secondary level
