Corporal Alexander Chalmers Reported Killed in Action

The A. Chalmers is thought to be Corporal Alexander Chalmers of 138 Clarence Street. He is a single man and went overseas with the draft from the 25th Brant Dragoons in January 1915.

Mrs. Chalmers, 32 James Street, Dundee, has received official intimation that her son, Pte. Alex. Chalmers, Canadians was killed in action on 8th June.  This is the second son whom Mrs. Chalmers has lost in the war.

Private Alexander Chalmers, who was 28 years of age, was prior to emigrating to Canada employed as manager in the Royal Arch Bar, Castle Street, Dundee.  He enlisted about a year ago, and came to this country along with his two brothers, who were in the same battalion.

Private William Chalmers was killed in action about eight months ago, while Private N. Chalmers is at present in hospital recovering from wounds.
