Circumstances of Casualty: Killed in Action. During an attack while crossing the Douai-Cambrai Road he was hit in the head by an enemy machine gun bullet and instantly killed.

Sergeant Alfred Edwards Killed in Action

Word has been received by Mr. G. Edwards, 94 West Mill Street, who by the way is not a relative, of the death in action of Sergeant Alfred Edwards, formerly of this city. Sergeant Edwards was killed instantly on September 27. He left Brantford with the 125th Battalion, and was formerly gardener here for Mr. E.L. Cockshutt. His wife at present resides at Bournemouth.
