BX November 30, 1933

The death of John Allan Chambers occurred at the Brantford General Hospital Saturday in his 48th year, after a long illness.  Deceased was born at Vanessa, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Chambers.  He was a veteran of the Great War, having enlisted in 1914.  He was a member of a machine gun battalion and served in England, France, Belgium and Germany.  He was awarded the military medal for his service.  Left to mourn his loss, are two sisters, Mrs. Iona Pettit, Buffalo, N.Y. and Mrs. Lydia Buck, this city and a brother Peter Chambers, Warnsville.  A military funeral will be conducted Wednesday morning from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Rowley, 116 Grand River Avenue to St. Basil’s church.  Interment will be made in the Soldiers’ Plot at Mount Hope cemetery.
