Letters and documents

BX October 18, 1916

In the trenches for over a year, Private Arthur Riley of the 19th Battalion, son of Mrs. George Riley of 127 Peel Street, has been wounded. No particulars have yet been received as to the nature of the wound. Pte. Riley is now in a hospital in France. The information came to Mrs. Riley in a telegram from Pte. Riley himself. Before enlisting he belonged to the 38th “Duffs” bugle band. He was then employed as a plumber by T.J. Minnes & Co.
