Medical History, Manitoba Military Hospital, 1920

Wounded October 18th, 1916, G.S.W. right thigh and left leg.  No treatment four days except Field dressing.  Captured and wounds dressed at dressing station and splints applied.  Cambrai – Wounds dress.  Valenciennes, leg set, dressed and extension January, 1917.  Hamelin-on-Yser. March, 1917, wounds still discharging 2” shorter.  In prison camp on crutches.  No duty.  December 1917 to Switzerland wounds both legs still discharging.  FB removed both legs.  Left leg then healed.  England June, 1918.  King George Military Hospital and #16 Canadian General Hospital, Orpington.  Right leg still discharging.  Invalided to Canada Sept. 1918.  M.M.H. Operation November 21st.  Sinus explored and sequestra removed. Leg broken and wired with extension. Profuse discharge for a while.  Some movement at site of fracture.  February 13th, 1919. Wire removed, August 12th 1919 sequestra removed.  Bismuth injection.  Wounds surface still discharging.
