Sergeant Charles Severs, formerly a carpentry instructor at the Mohawk Institute, has been killed in action, according to word received by Mrs. Packham of 305 Sheridan Street. The word came to Mrs. Packham from Sergt. Sever’s wife, who is now in Wales and who formerly resided at 196 Sheridan Street. Sergeant Severs went overseas with the first overseas battalion from the Dufferin Rifles. He was shot in the brain on March 27, and died two days later.
