Mrs. May Secord, 205 Marlborough Street, was notified this morning that her husband, Private Clarence Secord had been wounded on April 4 and admitted to the hospital. Pte. Secord left here with the 215th Battalion.

Clarence Ellsworth Secord

Clarence (Dan) Secord, 70 of 136 Elgin Street, died on Wednesday at the Brantford General Hospital.  Born in Newport, he came to Brantford as a youth and received his schooling here.  Mr. Secord was a veteran of the First World War, serving with the 125th Battalion overseas.  During the Second World War, he served with the Veterans Guard.  Mr. Secord was a former employee of the Universal Cooler and a member of Branch 90 Canadian Legion.  Surviving besides his wife, the former May Pizzey, are one son Harry, of this city; four daughters, Mrs. Norman (Kathleen) Kelly, Mrs. James (Hazel) McCaughen, Mrs. Roy (Dorothy Irish, all of Brantford, and Mrs. Leslie (Marjorie) Robertson of Ottawa; one brother, Reginald of Picton; two sisters, Miss Hazel Secord and Mrs. Jack (Marjorie) Lowe, of Brantford; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Mr. Secord is resting at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home.
