Claude F. Secord

Claude F. Secord, 74 of 215 Grand River Street N., Paris, died Saturday at home.  Mr. Secord was born in Brantford, and had been employed with Flintkote Company for the past 30 years.  He had served with the Canadian Mounted Rifles during the First World War.  Mr. Secord was a member of the Brantford Golf and Country Club and an honorary member of the Brantford Club.  He was interested in youth work and managed the Jr. B hockey team in Paris for several years.  He was associated with the soap box derbys, and was instrumental in designing a starting ramp and an electrical device for deciding the winner. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. James (Isabel) Harold, of Paris; one son, John P. of Vancouver; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Roy, of Tampa, Fla., and Stewart, of Ottawa. His wife, the former Isabella Scott died 10 years ago. Mr. Secord was at the Bruce B. Smith Funeral Home for service held today at 2 p.m. Interment was in Farringdon Cemetery. Rev. Robert Young will officiate.
