Gunner Claude E. Smith of the 48th Battery, a native of Paris, Ontario, passed away yesterday in the camp hospital, Toronto. The deceased who was 25 years of age, although he had not reached the firing line, has the honor and glory of being one of those who died in defence of King and Country. His relatives live at 43 Nightingale Street, Hamilton.
