Edward James Chandler

The death took place suddenly this morning, at the Brantford General Hospital, of Edward James Chandler, Mount Pleasant Road in his fifty-fifth year. Born at Chiddingfold, Surrey, England, he came here thirty years ago. He was a veteran of the First Great War, serving with the 125th Battalion in France, where he was wounded. Mr. Chandler had been an employee of the Canadian Car and Foundry Col. Ltd. For the past twenty-nine years. Besides his wife, formerly Miss Louisa Nash, he leaves to mourn his loss, one son, Edward James, R.C.N.V.R., one daughter, Betty Bernice, one brother, George, England, two sisters, Mrs. Faulkner and Mrs. Tidcombe, England, and two grandchildren. One brother predeceased him two years ago. Mr. Chandler is resting at his home. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

The funeral of Edward James Chandler was conducted from the Beckett Funeral Home, Saturday afternoon, and was largely attended by relatives and friends. Rev. T.H. Inns, Burford, officiated. The pallbearers were H. Payne, W. Shaw, W. Nicholl, S. Haynes, J. Sherrell and J. Harrison. The interment was in Farringdon Burial Ground.
