Lance Corporal Edwin George Axworthy Reported Wounded

Mr. E.G. Axworthy, 78 Gilkison Street, has just received word from Ottawa that his son, Lance Corporal Edwin George Axworthy, 772009 was admitted to the 16th General Hospital, Le Treport, Sept. 6. He was suffering from gunshot wounds in the head. Two months ago Lance Corp. Edwin G. Axworthy was struck by shrapnel three places in the back and in one leg. However, he was not wounded very seriously, and in a few days was in the trenches again. A short time before this, Lance-Corp. Axworthy and a chum were covered by earth from a shell bursting three feet from where they were standing. By good fortune neither one was hurt, but it took a while to dig themselves out again.
