Brantford Casualties

An ex-employee of the waterworks commission here, Private Edwin William Thomas, who went overseas with the 19th Battalion, is today reported dead from wounds. Before enlisting with the 19th Battalion he had no previous military experience. He is a married man and his wife is at present in Scotland. One brother, Arthur, a member of the Hamilton police force survives him. The word of his death was received here by Mrs. Amos of Shellards Lane, with whom Pte. Thomas boarded before going overseas.
