Lieut. Eric Cockshutt Home Here

Mr. W.F. Cockshutt, M.P., arrived home this morning and with him was his son, Lieut. Eric Morton Cockshutt, who has been in the army since March 1916.  Lieut. Cockshutt was commissioned with the 54th Battery, under Capt. Henderson.  He had previously been in the officers training corps at McGill, where he was a freshman student.  Immediately after being accepted he was accepted for the Royal Artillery School at Kingston and passed with high honors.  He was then sent to Petawawa for further training and was included in a special draft of 25 officers for overseas.  Lieut. Cockshutt has seen a good deal of the heavy fighting. He was in France by October 1916, and served with an ammunition column and later in the light artillery.

Since the armistice he has been in Germany.  He returns fortunately only slightly wounded.  He will be warmly welcomed by a host of friends in Brantford.
