Frank Gerald

Frank Gerald, husband of Mrs. Ethel Gerald died today at his residence, 187 Murray Street.  He was born at Black Rock, N.Y. and lived in Chatham before coming to Brantford about 45 years ago.  He was employed with the old Verity Plough Co. and latterly with Koehring Waterous Ltd.  He was a veteran of the First World War, having served overseas with the 125th Battalion.  He was a member of the Legion, Telephone City Branch 90 and the Loyal Orange Lodge, No1041 Chatham.  Surviving besides his widow are two sons, Freeman and Stanly, both of Windsor, three daughters, Mrs. Michael (Stella) Lens, Chatham and Mrs. Jack (Surina) Boben and Mrs. Bernard (Laura) Leque, both of Toronto, and several step-sons and step-daughters.  Mr. Gerald is resting at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home until Friday, when service will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel.  Interment will be in the Soldiers’ Plot in Mount Hope Cemetery.

The funeral of Frank Gerald was conducted Friday afternoon at the Hill and Robinson Chapel.  Rev. Canon F.W. Schaffter of St. Jude’s Anglican Church officiated.  There was a gathering of relatives and friends and there were floral tributes.  The pallbearers were Leslie and Alfred Evans, Ernest Walters, Gordon Coutts, Donald Kelly and David Beveridge.  Interment was in the soldiers plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.
