St. George Man Was Wounded – Pte. Fred Vancour Left Brantford With The Third Contingent

Although over a dozen men from Western Ontario points are mentioned in last night’s casualty lists, Brantford escaped. One Brant County man, Pte. Fred Vancour of St. George is reported amongst the wounded. No particular battalion seems to have suffered more than another. Out of nine of the Western Ontario men wounded, eight counties are represented.

Pte. Vancour left Brantford with the Third Contingent. He is a Canadian by birth and unmarried. Before going overseas he had four and a half years’ service with the 91st Regiment.
