Private Frederick James Chapple, for many years employed on Mrs. Sidmore’s market garden at Otterville, has been killed in action according to word received in Otterville on Saturday. Yesterday in the Baptist Church there a memorial service was held. He had been a member of the Baptist Church and a good worker in its interests. Nine years ago he came over from England and has since been in Otterville. He enlisted in Brantford and went overseas with the 2nd contingent. Private Chapple was 25 years of age and a fine young man. He had no relatives in Canada.
