George Bennett

George Bennett, husband of Mary Ann Bish, 70 Grant Street, died in the Brantford General Hospital Friday morning, in his 77th year.  Mr. Bennett was born in England and had been employed with the Ingleby Taylor Company Ltd. For many years.  He was a member of St. Jude’s Anglican Church and Doric Lodge, A.F. and A.M.  An only son, George, passed away in August 1947.  Surviving are two grandchildren, Arthur and Barbara Bennett.  Mr. Bennett is resting at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home, where the service will be conducted Monday afternoon.  Interment will be in Farringdon Burial Ground.

George Bennett

The funeral of George Bennett, husband of Mary Ann Bish, 70 Grant Street, was conducted on Monday afternoon from Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home.  Rev. F.W. Schaffter, rector of St. Jude’s Anglican Church, officiated.  The pallbearers were Walter Prince, John Swinton, Jack Stevenson, Herbert Newrick, Anson Jull and William Smith.  Interment was in Farringdon Burial Ground.  On Sunday evening the officers and members of Doric Lodge, A.F. and A.M. conducted a Masonic service at the funeral home.  V.W. Bro. Anson Jull was in charge of the service and was assisted by R.W. Bro. J.P. Temple, W. Bro. E.E. McIntyre, and Bros. S.E. Painter, Charles Jackson and P.H. Niblock.
