William Gill

William Gill of Mechanic Street, Paris, died Monday in Willett Hospital, Paris.  He was born in Belper, Derbyshire, England, and had lived in Paris most of his life.  He was a retired barber.  Mr. Gill served in the First World War and was a member of the Paris Canadian Legion where he had been a past president.  Surviving are one son, William of Windsor; two daughters, Mrs. Mel (Mildred) Sutherland and Mrs. Jack (Elaine) Purchase, both of Woodstock; three brothers, Gordon of Paris, Harold of Kitchener, Albert of Hamilton; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel McHutchion of Paris, Mrs. Charles (Adeline) Thrower of Woodstock; 11 grandchildren.  His wife, the former Florence Pierce, died 31 years ago.  Mr. Gill is at the Bruce B. Smith Funeral Home, Paris, for service Thursday at 3.30 p.m.  Interment will be in Paris Cemetery.  Rev. Morley Pinkney will officiate.
