The funeral is taking place today in Toronto of George Frederick Matthews, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Matthews of this city. A number of local friends are in attendance at the last sad rites.

Private George Frederick Matthews Interred with Military Honors

The funeral of the late George Frederick Matthews, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Matthews, took place yesterday afternoon in Toronto from the residence of the Uncle Mr. Fred. Ratcliffe, 145 Crescent Road, to the Mausoleum in North Toronto. The remains were interred in their last resting place with military honors, and many sympathizing friends and relatives were present. The services at the house were conducted by Rev. Llewellyn Brown, formerly pastor of the family at the First Baptist Church here, Mr. Brown having come from Detroit for the service. At the crypt, the chaplain, Captain Thomas Dadson, assisted.
