Circumstances of Casualty: Killed in Action. During an attack from Hangard Wood to Cancelette Wood, and just after passing the former, he was sniped through the head and instantly killed.

A telegram addressed to Mrs. Annie Smith, Echo Place, announcing the death in action on August 8th of Mrs. Smith's brother, Pte. George Murray Roszel was received in the city on Sunday. Mrs. Smith has left Brantford, however, and now resides in Hamilton.

Mark George Brind, of 55 Jarvis Street, is reported wounded but back on duty again. George Roszel of Echo Place is also reported wounded.
