George Henry Woodcock

George Henry (Harry) Woodcock, 76 of 39 Waterloo Street, died Monday in the Brantford General Hospital.  He was born in Birmingham, England, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Woodcock and had resided in Brantford for the past 59 years. Mr. Woodcock was a veteran of the First World War and served overseas with the 125th Battalion.  He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Branch 90 and was formerly employed with the Massey-Ferguson Limited previous to retiring in 1957.  He operated his own shoe repair shop in West Brantford for a number of years.  Surviving besides his wife, the former Lillian Dawson, are four sons, Carl, Sid, Harry, and Robert all of Brantford; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Violet) Farcoe of Toronto, Mrs. Elton (Evelyn) Smith of Brantford; one brother, Edgar of Peterborough; 30 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.  Mr. Woodcock is at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home until Thursday for service in the chapel at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in the Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery, Rev. J.W. Houston will officiate.
