Returned From Front

Private Gilbert McKenzie Cunnington, who enlisted with the Queen’s Own at Toronto and later fought with the British forces at Armentieres and St. Eloi, has returned to his home here. He was in the trenches and suffered very severely from frost bite, being invalided out. He is employed in the hydraulic department of the Ontario Electric Commission, which is working on surveys of the Grand River. He learned to respect the German snipers but says that most of the fighting was done with hand grenades at that time.
