Harry Ashby Sr.

PARIS – Harry Ashby Sr. of 80 Washington Street, Paris, died Sunday at the Willett Hospital.  He was born in Watford, Herts., England, and was in his 75th year.  Mr. Ashby was a bricklayer and lived in Paris for 32 years.  A veteran of the First World War, he served with the 32nd Battery.  He was a member of the Paris Canadian Legion, the Paris Orange Lodge and the Royal Black Knights of Ireland of Brantford.  Mr. Ashby was also a member of the bricklayers union.  Surviving are Mrs. Ashby, the former Elizabeth Harris; three sons, William, Harry and Albert of Paris; four daughters, Mrs. William (Evelyn) Spencer and Mrs. Clifford (Polly) Mahon, both of Paris, Mrs. D.W. (Emma) Simons of Hamilton and Mrs. A. (Annice Bud) Krivoshien of Pinellas Park, Florida; three brothers and three sisters; 28 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Mr. Ashby is resting at his residence 80 Washington Street in Paris for service Tuesday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in Paris Cemetery.
