Gets Decoration

Private Harry Hickman, who enlisted with the 125th Battalion in this city and who has been serving in France for some time, writing home July 16, reports receiving the French decoration for bravery and general good work at the front. Hickman is only 20 years old and before he left here was an employee of the Schultz Bros. Company. He is now serving with the First Battalion Canadians.

Mrs. Nellie Truckle, 52 Nelson Street, received official word today that Private Harry Hickman, who enlisted here with the 125th, had been killed in action. He was one of the first drafts from the 125th and had gone through terrific fighting, winning a French decoration for bravery, which is being forwarded to Mrs. Truckle, whom he looked upon as a mother. Before enlistment he was employed at Shultis Bros. and Company.
