Private Harry Alfred Willis Killed in Action – Local Man Left Here With the C.M.R. – Relatives Not Found

Killed in action was the word received in the city this morning regarding Pte. Harry Willis of the Canadian Mounted Rifles Willis enlisted here with the 25th Brant Dragoons, going overseas with the second contingent, and later transferred to the 4th C.M.R. He formerly lived at 154 Pearl Street, but no trace of his relatives could be found at this address this morning.

Relatives of Fallen Hero

Two sisters and a brother of Private Harry Alfred Willis, reported killed in action, reside in the city. They are Mrs. A. Reynolds, 330 Rawdon Street; Mrs. Gimmer, 13 George Street, and John, 73 George Street. Another brother, George, lives in Hamilton.

A telegram was received yesterday announcing the death, but the whereabouts of any of his relatives were not available. In The Expositor last evening Mrs. Reynolds received the first information of her brother’s death.

Officially Announced

The official casualty list this morning reports that Harry Alfred Willis of Brantford had been killed in action. He was with the 4th C.M.R. this was reported in the Expositor a few days ago.
