Herbert Dallaway

Herbert Dallaway, for 30 years a resident of Brantford, passed away Sunday at the Brantford General Hospital in his 64th year.  Mr. Dallaway, who resided at 18 Edwin Street, was a member of the Canadian Legion, and a cabinetmaker by trade.  He was associated with the Mickle-Dyment plant until the war broke out.  He enlisted with the 84th Battalion and saw service in France.  Funeral services, which will be conducted Wednesday, will include Canadian Legion honors and interment will be made in the Soldiers’ Plot at Mount Hope Cemetery.  Mr. Dallaway was born at Sheffield, England, and came to Canada and Brantford 30 years ago. Left to mourn his loss, beside his widow, are two sons, John and William, and a daughter, Mrs. R. Rendle, all of this city.

Herbert Dallaway

With Canadian Legion honors and a large number of Legionnaires in attendance, funeral services for Herbert Dallaway were conducted yesterday at the residence, 18 Edwin Street, with Rev. W.O. Bristol, Riverdale Baptist Church in charge.  Interment was made in the Soldiers’ Plot at Mount Hope Cemetery.  Buglers J. Fossey and B. Porter sounded “Reveille” and “Last Post.”  The 84th Battalion Association and the 75th Battalion Association were well represented.  The pallbearers were three members of the 84th Association, H. Blanchard, P. Alcock and W. Morrison, and three Legion members, D. Rods, F. Sweett and E. Stanbridge.
