BX October 17, 1916

In a letter from the commanding officer of the 15th Highlanders Battalion, Mrs. Theal, 90 Lorne Crescent, was this morning acquainted with the sad news that her son, Corporal Howard Nelson Theal, had been killed in action on September 26. Corporal Theal enlisted at Calgary with the 51st Battalion of Edmonton, and was later transferred to the 15th Highlanders. It was three years ago that he left Brantford. He received his education at Thorold and the Toronto University.

Killed in Action

A sad message was received by Mr. John Harold on Tuesday last, saying his cousin, Corporal Howard Nelson Theal, was killed in action on Sept. 28. He was one of the fine types of Canadian manhood who has made the supreme sacrifice for his country.
