Miss Ida Bull is Nurse at Bombay – Former Brantford Nurse Has Had Wide Experience During War

Miss Ida Bull, a sister of Pte. George Riley Bull reported wounded in yesterday’s casualty list, and of Pte. Jack Bull, recently killed in action, is at present nursing in Bombay, India. Miss Bull is a graduate nurse from Victoria Hospital, London, Ont. She practiced in Brantford for some time and early in the war, feeling that chances were better in England than here to reach the front, she paid her own passage across. After a short time she was taken on the staff of the Connaught Military Hospital at Aldershot, later on being transferred to the Mediterranean Expeditionary Forces and again to Egypt, and some time was spent in Alexandria awaiting passage either to India or Mesopotamia. When last heard from Miss Bull was in Bombay, having gone from Alexandria to Aden and from there to Bombay on board a hospital ship carrying 500 wounded British soldiers. Another sister, Mrs. Frank Flower, resides in Brantford at 22 Walnut Street.

On Leave in India

Mrs. F. Flower, 22 Walnut Street, has received word from her sister, Miss Ida Bull, who has been serving in Mesopotamia, that she has been having a month’s leave in India.  A copy of the Baghdad Times was also received, a two-sheet paper gotten out for the benefit of the troops in the East.  Nurse Bull left Brantford in the early part of the war, at her own expense and enlisted in the Army Medical Corps.
