James Edward Burrows

James E. Burrows, 83, formerly of Lyons Avenue, died Monday in the John Noble Home.  He was born in England and had been a resident of Brantford for the past 49 years.  Previous to coming to Canada Mr. Burrows served on the old sailing vessels with the merchant marines. He was a carpenter, operating his own wood working shop and was a former member of Park Baptist Church. Mr. Burrows was a veteran of the First World War, serving overseas.  Surviving are his wife, Connie; one son, Harold; and one daughter, Mrs. John (Myrtle) Partridge both of Brantford; also three grandsons. A son, Ernest Edward Burrows, was lost at sea during the Second World War on the HMCS Regina.  Mr. Burrows is at the Hill and Robison Funeral Home until Wednesday, for service in the chapel at 3.30 p.m.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Harold Stibbards officiating.
