James William Cahill Killed in Action

Mrs. Minnie Cahill, 506 ½ Colborne Street, has received the sad intelligence of the death of her eldest son, Private James William Cahill, who was killed in action on March 30. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family, who lost the husband and father not quite a year ago. Private Cahill was a fine sample of young manhood and had a host of friends here. He always had a kind word for everyone, and was beloved by all for his cheery disposition. He was always a staunch, true friend. He enlisted with the 125th Battalion and had been over in England until about a month ago, arriving in France just in time for the big drive now being made. He was 24 years of age. A younger brother Roy is also in France answering his country’s call, he having been there for the past three years.
