Private James Valentine Jenkerson of Brantford has been killed in action, according to a recent casualty list. Jenkerson formerly worked at the Massey-Harris factory here as painter and enlisted with the 32nd Battery. He was later transferred to the 4th Battalion, going overseas with the second contingent. Jenkerson is a single man and formerly resided at 66 Grey Street. His relatives reside in England.

Further particulars as to Private James Valentine Jenkerson, who was yesterday reported killed in action, have been received by the Expositor. His sister Mrs. H. Gould lives just outside the city limits in West Brantford. His mother resides in the old country. Private Jenkerson enlisted under Major Newman in the 19th Battalion. He formerly worked at the Massey-Harris Co., and boarded at 66 Grey Street. Private Jenkerson comes of a military family, his father having seen 21 years’ service, and is still in the army, being a veteran of the Indian wars and a Chelsea pensioner.
