Captain Archibald Secord

From the home of his father, Mr. David Secord, Cathcart, the funeral of Captain Archibald Secord took place on Tuesday to Trinity church, Burford, Rev. J. Hosford officiating.  Captain Secord was born on his parents’ farm from which he was buried, 25 years ago.  He attended Brantford Collegiate and later went to Toronto, where he was a student at the Veterinary College.  When war broke out Captain Secord went over with a veterinary corps, but he did not leave England, his health not being good.  Just three months ago he settled at Calgary, Alta., and his death occurred there very suddenly on August 12.  Six old school friends laid the remains to rest, they were Messrs., Luther Barker, John Farrington, Norman Weir, George Polley, Wilfred McIntyre and John McIntyre.  Besides his parents, Captain Secord is survived by three sisters and two brothers.
