Arthur J. Clawsey

Arthur J. Clawsey passed away on Tuesday in Dayton, Ohio, in his 57th year. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Clawsey of Brantford, and had made his home in the United Sates for many years. He served overseas in the Great War, singing from Detroit for service in the first contingent. Left to mourn his loss are three sisters, Mrs. L. Heming, Detroit, Mrs. Roger Bohn, Detroit, and Mrs. Ernest Govan, Detroit; and two brothers, Edwin Clawsey, Vermont, W. Va., and Wilfred Clawsey, New York City. The remains are resting at Thorpe Brothers; Funeral Home, and the funeral will be conducted Friday morning to St. Basil’s Church for the funeral mass, with interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Arthur J. Clawsey

The funeral of Arthur J. Clawsey was conducted this morning from Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home to St. Basil’s Church, where the funeral mass was conducted by Rev. Father Cremmen. At the graveside in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Rev. Father Kelly officiated, and “Last Post” was sounded by Bugler H. Porter. Members of the Brantford Branch of the Canadian Legion were represented at the funeral. The pallbearers were M. King, J. Kelly, W. Robbins, F. Casey, R. Casey and J.P. Rowley.
