Private John Hoe of the 54th Battalion has been wounded by a gunshot in the thigh. The message was received by his sister-in-law, Mrs. T. Hoe, 115 William Street, where Pte. Hoe lived before he joined the army. Pte. Hoe left with the 215th Battalion. He transferred later to the 125th, and went to France finally with the 54th boys. In Brantford he was known well, being an employee of Schultz Bros.
