Wedding Bells – MacFarlane – Wood

The very pretty wedding was solemnized at the residence of the bride’s parents, 89 Dundas Street, on the afternoon of Dec. 31 of Mary R. Wood and Pte. J.R. MacFarlane of the 125th Brant Battalion.  Rev. James Chapman of Shenstone Memorial church officiated.  The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very sweet in a dress of white silk, carrying a bouquet of red and white American Beauty roses, tied with blue.  The house and table decorations were also carried out in the colors of the allied forces.  The bridesmaid, Miss Bessie MacFarlane, sister of the groom, was very pretty in a dress of white embroidered veil with bouquet of the prevailing colors – red, white and blue.  The groomsman was Mr. William Wood, brother of the bride.  After the ceremony a sumptuous supper was served, after which a very enjoyable evening was spent.  The many beautiful gifts attested to the esteem in which the young couple were held, and included a linen shower given to her by the choir of Shenstone Church.
