SWINTON, John – At the Brantford General Hospital, Thursday, June 21, 1973, in his 80th year, John Swinton of 124 Ontario Street (retired employee of Robbins and Myers, veteran of World War One, 4th Battalion and member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 90); beloved husband of Elizabeth Nicholson and the late Christina Ross; dear father of Mrs. Vincent (Dorothy) O’Neill, Brantford; Mrs. James (Margaret) Church, Princeton; Rose, Brantford; step-father of Charles Lynch, Brantford; Agnes Fledch, Agincourt; Betty Snider, Sarnia; Jessie Leconte, Brantford; and Barbara Jolley, Brantford; also survived by 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Resting at the McCleister Funeral Home Ltd., 80 Brant Avenue from Friday afternoon.  Service including committal in the Chapel, Saturday at 2 p.m.  Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery.  Reverend D. Gordon of Central Presbyterian Church officiating.
