John Lloyd Tomlinson

J. Lloyd Tomlinson, 71 of 52 Brighton Avenue, died Thursday in the Brantford General Hospital.  Born in Brant County he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Tomlinson.  He was a resident of Brantford district for all but 12 years when he resided in St. Catharines.  Upon his return to Brantford in 1934 he was an employee of Koehring-Waterous Company, on the office staff until his retirement in 1957.  He was a member of the Waterous Ex-Servicemen’s Association.  Mr. Tomlinson was a member of the official board of Wesley United Church, a life member of Brant Lodge, AF and AM, and Brantford representative on the Brant Historical Society.  He was a veteran of the First World War with overseas service.  Mr. Tomlinson was also former secretary and member of the advisory board of the Brantford Liberal Association.  Surviving besides his wife, the former Edna M. Graham, are two daughters, Miss Florence of Sudbury and Mrs. James (Isabel) Burrows of Ottawa; one brother, Charles of Weston; one sister, Mrs. Perc A. (Florence) McLeod of Toronto; two grandchildren.  Mr. Tomlinson is at Hill and Robinson Funeral Home until Monday for service in the chapel at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in Farringdon Burial Ground, Rev. W.J. Phillips Rees will officiate.
