Committed Suicide

Private John Windle, who threw himself in front of a train at Unionville on Sunday, was a Brantford man who went overseas with the 215th Battalion and was sent back from England. He had for the past couple months been a mental patient at Newmarket hospital. After securing his discharge from the army, John Windle grew despondent here and was lodged in the jail for a day or so for safe-keeping until the G.W.V.A. arranged to have him taken to the hospital. He was well known in this city, and had worked on the corporation frequently. The remains were sent to Brantford and will be interred in Mt. Hope cemetery, from 18 Drummond Street, this afternoon.
