BX August 23, 1918

Acting Bombardier Joseph Daly reported wounded, went overseas with the 2nd C.E.F. in 1915, with the 14th Battery from Toronto, and transferred to the 27th Battery. He was admitted to the military hospital, Colchester, August 17.

Joseph Daly

Joseph (Pop) Daly, 83 of 261 Sheridan Street, died Sunday in St. Joseph’s Hospital.  Born in Peterborough, he was a resident off Brantford for 63 years.  He was an employee of the Bucks Stove Works when it operated here and then with the Koehring Waterous and latterly a night watchman with the Lake of the Woods Milling Company.  Mr. Daly was a veteran of the First World War serving with the 14th Battery.  He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 90, the Brantford Gunner Club and a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.  Surviving are one son, Frederick, of Cheboygan Falls, Wisconsin; one daughter, Mrs. (May) Sutton at home, two granddaughters; four great grandchildren.  Mr. Daly is at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home until Wednesday morning for funeral at 9 a.m. to Our Lady of the Assumption Church for requiem mass at 9.30 a.m.  Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
