Lawrence Sanford Claus

The death occurred yesterday of Mr. Lawrence Sanford Claus, 49 years of age at the Brantford General Hospital.  He has lived all his life in Brant County.  He fought for four years and was wounded in the last war, in the 114th Battalion in England and in France.  Left to mourn his loss, besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Walter Knappett and Mrs. Oscar Knappett, both of Windsor.  The deceased is resting at the Beckett Funeral Home, where the service will take place tomorrow afternoon, with interment in the Soldiers’ Plot at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Lawrence Sanford Claus

The funeral service for Lawrence S. Claus was conducted Sunday afternoon from the Beckett Funeral Home to the Soldiers’ Plot in Mount Hope Cemetery.  Canadian Legion members were in attendance in a body and formed a guard of honor.  Rev. F.W. Schaffter was in charge of the services at the Funeral Home and at the graveside.  E.R. Edwards, S. Howell, C. Grant, H. Twidale, A. Mattice and A. Sherman, comrades from the Canadian Legion acted as pallbearers.
