Pte. L. Whitbread Sprained His Knee – Paris Soldier Fell into a Trench and is now in Hospital

PARIS, September 27. – Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Whitbread received a letter yesterday from their son, Private Leslie Whitbread, stating that he was in the 13th General Hospital in France suffering from a sprained knee, the result of falling into a trench, but that he soon expects to be around again. Private Whitbread went overseas with the 84th Battalion, but on arrival in the old country was transferred to the 75th Battalion.
