Melvin Roy Brown

Melvin Roy Brown of 16 Edward Street died Friday at his residence in his 71st year.  He was born in Burford and was a resident of Brantford for 50 years.  He was employed with Massey-Harris Verity Works for over 30 years, retiring in 1940.  He gave overseas service in the First World War with the First Division of the 54th Battery.  He was a former member of the Canadian Legion Branch 90.  Mr. Brown was an adherent of the United Church.  Surviving are Mrs. Brown, the former Maud Shellington and three sisters, Mrs. D.A. (Mary) Bloodsworth and Miss Nellie Brown, both of city, Mrs. Thomas (Violet) Foster of Woodstock; several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two brothers, William and Harvey of Saskatchewan several years ago.  Mr. Brown is resting at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home.  Funeral arrangements later.
