Lieutenant Norman Ewart Towers of the Royal Canadian Rifles has been killed in action, according to word received this morning by his brother here, Major A.S. Towers, manager of the Bank of Toronto. Lieut. Towers enlisted in Sarnia and so meritorious has been his work at the front that he had been named for promotion to a captaincy a very short time before he was killed. Another brother is now at the front.

A dispatch from Sarnia says of the death of Captain Norman Ewart Towers, brother of Major A.S. Towers of this city: Word has been received here that Capt. Norman Ewart Towers, youngest son of Thomas F. Towers, had died of wounds at No. 2 Red Cross Hospital, Rouen, France, September 20. He was a lawyer by profession, and enlisted with the 54th Battalion at Port Arthur. He transferred to the Royal Artillery, and was on active service two years.
