BX November 19, 1918

Mrs. S.S. Davison, Echo Place, has received word from Ottawa that her nephew, Private Raymond Rochester Tear, of the Mounted Rifles 5th C.M.R., was seriously wounded. Pte. Tear formerly lived at 17 King Street and was employed at Davison’s market garden. His father, Sergt. George Tear returned from active service some time ago and is now living in Columbus, Ohio. Raymond enlisted with the 25th Dragoons in this city.

BX December 2, 1918

Mrs. Samuel Davidson, Echo Place, was grateful to receive word today from the director of records that her nephew, Private Raymond Rochester Tear, is no longer seriously ill at No. 20 General hospital at Dannes Camiers, France, where he was taken on November 18. Pte. Tear is a Brantford lad who went overseas with the 36th Battalion, and later was drafted to the 5th C.M.R.
