The death occurred suddenly in the Brantford General hospital, early this morning of Reginald Emery Verity, of 24 Lincoln Avenue, well known in financial and cultural spheres of interest in Brantford.

He was formerly, over a considerable period, with the Canadian Bank of Commerce – now the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce – and for 15 years served as treasurer of the Brantford Community Concert Association.  He was a member of the Brantford Golf and Country Club, the Brantford Curling Club and the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, Toronto.  Mr. Verity was a member of First Baptist Church.

Born in Brantford, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Verity, he received his education here.  He served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force in the First World War.

Mr. Verity is survived by his wife, the former Marion Dell and two daughters, Mrs. (Rev.) Bruce W. (Sondra) Fraser of Toronto and Mrs. Michael (Isabelle) Rolph of Toronto, and two grandchildren; also two brothers, Dr. George F. Verity of Brantford and Dr. Lloyd Verity of Battle Creek, Michigan.

Mr. Verity will be at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home for service on Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Farringdon Burial Ground. Rev. Cyril Squires of First Baptist Church will officiate.
