Family Stricken

With the death of Private Richard Clawsey, killed in action at the front, there have been three deaths in this family during the past year. Both his father and a brother died during the past year, within a few months of each other. He has two other brothers in khaki. Mrs. Clawsey is now quite ill, the third death being much a shock. One hour before the telegram announcing his death was received Mrs. Clawsey had a letter from another son Fred, stating that he was with Richard and both were having a fairly good time.

One year ago today Richard “Dick” Clawsey of this city was killed in action at the Battle of St. Eloi. Today his many friends are sympathizing with his mother, Mr. Thomas Clawsey, West Mill Street, on the anniversary of his death.
