Given a Ring

Richard Latus Pearson, 46 Jarvis Street, for some time a valued employee in the weaving department at Slingsby’s Manufacturing Company, recently enlisted with the 215th Battalion. For his departure to take up soldiering, Private Pearson was fittingly honored by his fellow employees who gathered together and presented him with a signet ring as a token of the esteem in which he was held. An appropriate address was read and the presentation made by Herbert Kitchen, superintendent of the weaving department on behalf of the weavers. Private Pearson replied suitably, thanking his friends for the honor shown him. Pte. Pearson has one brother now at the front, who left with the first Canadian contingent.
