Although it has been announced that Private Thompson, of this city had been wounded, James Thompson, Shellard’s Lane, has not received any official notification to this effect. Pte. Thompson was a member of the 19th Battalion.

Brantford Casualties

Private Robert Thompson of the 19th Battalion, reported in yesterday’s list as wounded, enlisted in Brantford. He is 21 years old and unmarried. The names of Pte. Harry Houlding, 4th Battalion, wounded, and Pte. George Henry Gilham, and Driver Albert George Gilham, appear in today’s official casualty list.

Four Names on Brant County Casualty List – Privates Thompson and Crabtree, City, Flavelle, Paris, and Cooke, St. George – All Wounded

A long list of casualties received shortly before noon today contained the names of several more Brantford or Brant County men who have been wounded on the battlefields. 

According to The Expositor list, Robert W. Thompson left here with the Second Contingent and was wounded in October, 1915, and again on April 20 of this year. He is a married man, a plasterer by trade, and had several months’ experience with the 38th Dufferin Rifles. Previous to enlistment he resided on Shellards Lane. Word has been received that he has been admitted to the hospital at Newcastle-on-Tyne.
