Roy L. Story

Roy L. Story passed away Sunday at his home, 87 Grand Street.  He was born in Brantford; his parents having been among the earliest settlers on Terrace Hill.  For many years he was a toolmaker in the employ of the Massey-Harris Company.  Mr. Story went overseas with the 125th Battalion, C.E.F., and over a long period of years he served with the military bands of a number of Canadian regiments, including the 13th Regiment, Hamilton, the Dufferin Rifles of Canada, the 77th Wentworth Regiment, and the 91st Highlanders, Hamilton.  He had been a member of the Canadian Legion Band in Brantford since its formation and he was a member of the local Legion branch.  Left to mourn his loss are his widow, formerly Sarah Schofield; one son, Thomas, at home, and two brothers, Reginald Story, Toronto, and Rowland Story, Paris.  The deceased was an adherent of Sydenham Street United Church.  The body is resting at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home, where the funeral will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, with interment in Mount Hope Cemetery.
